Where to Sell Clothes Online in 2026: An Honest Breakdown

Depop, Grailed, eBay, Vinted, Instagram or Rackd — what each platform actually costs you and who it works for.

Rackd Editorial2 October 2026

Every platform wants to be where you sell your clothes. Most of them want your money more than your success. Here is what each major option actually looks like in 2026 — fees, audience, effort and payout reality.

Depop

Still the default for secondhand fashion. The audience is huge but so is the competition — your listing fights thousands of near-identical ones, and the algorithm rewards sellers who treat it like a full-time job. Good for volume thrift, hard for standing out.

Grailed

The right room for high-end menswear and archive pieces — buyers there know what a Number (N)ine tag means. But casual and mid-tier listings sink without a trace, and seller fees plus payment processing take a real bite.

eBay and Vinted

eBay still moves volume but fashion discovery is weak — buyers go there to search, not browse. Vinted is cheap to sell on but the buyer base expects rock-bottom prices; fine for clearing wardrobes, bad for building a brand.

Instagram DMs

Zero fees, zero protection, maximum admin. Selling through DMs means chasing payments, disputing chargebacks alone and building trust from scratch with every buyer. It works until it very much does not.

Rackd

Built for exactly this: independent brands and serious sellers of Y2K, streetwear and limited releases. Rackd handles payments and order flow, buyers get real protection, and sellers get promotion tools instead of a daily posting grind. The catalogue is curated — your pieces sit next to other good pieces, not next to spam.

  • Secure checkout handled for you — no chasing payments
  • Order flow and tracking built in
  • Promotion tools designed for independent fashion
  • Curated catalogue — your listings are not buried under bots
